If you plan on installing Joomla to your root web directory(public_html folder) and are getting an error, you need to delete the images folder.  Login to your Cpanel and click "File Manager". Navigate to the public_html folder and delete the images folder.

Whatever you do, do not delete the public_html folder, it is a system folder that the webserver goes to when a request is made to access your website.
